Orlando Sentinel has started their preseason ranking of teams.
Strange seeing Tulane's schedule without a game against Army.

CFN has some "way too early bowl picks".

Military
Washington, DC RFK Stadium
Army vs. ACC No. 8
Ridiculously Early Call: Texas A&M* vs. Notre Dame*
Top Three Other Options: 1) Army, 2) Maryland, 3) Boston College

WHY? Here’s where things get a little loopy. Okay, a lot loopy, but it’s one of the only bowls that could potentially have at-large spots to create a great matchup. Notre Dame is in a no man’s land when it comes to bowl tie-ins. It can’t go to the Champs Sports Bowl after going last year, and it’s not going to the BCS thanks to a brutal schedule. It’s not like there will be a slew of other options, but on the plus side for the bowl, Army probably isn’t going to bowl eligible which could mean one of several SEC teams could be on the table. Texas A&M’s military aspect would make it a popular at-large pick, but the SEC will probably want its new member to go to one of the league’s preset tie-ins. With as many as 11 SEC teams likely to be bowl eligible, there will be plenty of wiggle room.

It's fun to play what-if. From the split national titles of the past to the future's lost rivalries speculative  chatter makes the long offseason that much more tolerable. I find it ironic that Tomahawk Nation projects past top four finishes into the very playoff system that would eliminate everyone's favorite offseason banter.
Down with the playoff idea already

Wait, WHAT? Impossible front flip to avoid tackle.
