The importance of Trent Steelman and his supernatural ability to keep this team in games should be mentioned foremost. Sal can catch you up on Steelman's status.

Another thing I have put before posting here is my top 25 for the Blogpoll.

I honestly didn't expect Army to start 0-3 this year. 3-0 and 1-1 had been contemplated but never an 0-3 start. The part I'm just sick about is that this is still another year (3 straight) that Army would absolutely curb stomp my alma mater Pitt. As it is right now, the defense is flat out not good enough. There seems to be an out of control havoc to disrupt plays and then a mid-play swoon as players who hurtled themselves into the line or dove off of blocks are picking themselves up off the ground instead of working to shed the block and make a play. "They won't be able to score 38 points if they have to put up those numbers" is one typical criticism of Army's style of milk the clock offense... that hasn't been entirely true this year as Army hasn't had any problem scoring 38 points - the problem is Army has had to score 50 to stay in games and there is just not enough time in a game for this offense to score 50 every game. That's on the defense - with even a mere satisfactory game from the defense this Army team could roll either of these last two teams.

I believe there is always something positive to take from a game. 0-3 is tough to take, but it wasn't all negative.

Well it will make for a great story....     IF Army can turn it around and string together wins. Other silver lining, Army leads the nation in rushing. The CIC trophy is still in play and interestingly Air Force chimes in at #2 in rushing. Up next: 3 weeks at home, starting with Stony Brook. Here are the Army Stony Brook game notes. (.pdf)
