Good Turnover in Lieu of Bad Turnovers

Wednesday, January 9, 2013

New year, new times - same old champions - but 2013 will mean a whole lot of turnover in Army's coaching staff.

Sal lists the current departures as OL coaches Bill Tripp and Gene McKeehan (both retiring from coaching) and notes the hiring of a new running backs coach, as well as the departure of D-Line coach Clarence Holmes.

Say what you will about continuity regarding the coaching staff, the defense needs a boost, as does recruiting. 2-10 with the #1 rushing attack in the USA? It's clearly time for a change. This is a team that could and should have won 8 games and won with style. New coaching pieces don't always bring winning, nor do they necessarily bring style - but this team already has style and hasn't done any winning in the first place. I look forward to the fresh new members of the coaching staff.
