Santiago Update

Thursday, October 31, 2013

Personnel news from Sal Interdonato: Angel Santiago is and ready to go. Sal reports that Angel is near 100%.

The Black Knights have not lost a fumble in 229 straight carries with Santiago under center. Army had four turnovers (two fumbles, two interceptions) after Santiago left the Temple game, a 33-14 loss.“There’s nothing that is going to keep me out of this game,” Santiago said. “There’s nothing.”

Some new uniforms are scheduled for debut at Colorado Springs...

Two Thirds of the Season

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

With a week off from Army football during the bye week, I counted on a leisurely weekend with little worry about what happens on the gridiron.

Then this happened.

The reason why I can't stand Navy to begin with was their win over 2007's Pitt team, and this game gave me plenty of flashbacks. I swear, I can't remember the last time Navy did something that didn't piss me off.

oh. oh, yeah...

What's worse is I've got to go ahead and root for Navy again this weekend in light of their opponent. So can somebody please tell me why I can't simply enjoy college football??

So where to turn for good news?...

Can't find solace in the BCS polls, which is looking more and more like the same old thing every year.

I guess I respect most conference leaders at this point of the season. Just find a way for the Columbus Buckeyes to fall apart and I can live with all of that.

So the old standby.... what's Sal got to say about a rested Army team? Well he tells us that Geoff Bacon is going to play this week... also:

Army’s top two quarterbacks Angel Santiago and A.J. Schurr practiced Monday for the first time together since Wake Forest week (Sept. 16-20).
Despite some of the poor results to this point the next game is the biggest one so far. With the CIC trophy hanging in the air, Army needs both service academy wins to win hardware.

So it's as big a week as ever. No reason not to be up for Air Force. Win and the season will have a riveting finish.... lose and I hate to say it, but it's wait and see for next year.
